Wood-stone, stone-wood are two opposite materials: one is vegetable, the other is mineral; one is soft and warm, the other is cold and rough; one is the pulse of life, the other one is motionless, dead. Nevertheless, in Kazik Gasior's sculptures one is part of the other. In this relationship where the worlds are opposed, they pass each other, they mingle, they confront each other, they tear each other but they also dance, they sing , they respect each other, they coexist. In these passionate and complex relationships, the interaction of the forces is often brought out. Amber, a material that is halfway between mineral and vegetable, sometimes comes up as a mediator. This mysterious fossil has the virtue to regulate the energy. Thanks to this virtue, it knows very well how to calm tensions and conflicts, which are part of the relation stone wood. It is a race, an endless race between life and death where there is no winner. Therefore the link between the forces is neutralized, allowing the two opposite materials to be one: the woodstone.
