By choice Kazik Gasior's muse is stone, being both perpetual and a witness to the passge of eons. It allows the artist to reveal in each sculpture this cherished symbol of time. Kazik reawakens dormant forms hidden for so long and liberates them by his inspiration. The essence of time is inherent in the durability of the medium, being both constant and unchanging since the dawn of time. It has preexisted man and will remain after we cease to exist. In defiance of this permanence the artist's decision is to register on this material a faint human fingerprint to record our existence on earth. In this way humanity transient nature is coupled with the endurance of stone. We are invited to be humble, as we must acknowledge mankind's fragility put in perspective by the intrinsic strength and eternal nature of stone.
